TurfCaddie ("we," "us") makes an app for golf course superintendents that provides AI turf diagnosis, soil-moisture tracking, weather insight, and record-keeping. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
We share only what each provider needs to perform its function. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, file storage, hosting | Account, profile, and all content you create |
| Anthropic (Claude API) | AI photo diagnosis, chat, planning, calibration | Turf photos and the text/context you submit for analysis |
| Open-Meteo | Weather, soil temperature, and evapotranspiration data | Your latitude/longitude coordinates |
| OpenStreetMap / Nominatim | Turning an address into coordinates (geocoding) | The address you enter |
| Apple & Google | Optional single sign-on | The sign-in identifier you authorize |
| Expo | Delivery of push notifications | Your push token and notification content |
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
When you request a diagnosis, the photo (or description) and relevant course context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the result. Photos are used to produce your diagnosis and are stored in your account so you can revisit them. You control your own photos and can delete them.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account, which removes your profile and associated content from our systems. You may also request deletion by emailing us. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten.
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated access, and row-level security so each account can only reach its own data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
TurfCaddie is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
During our beta, TurfCaddie is provided free and we collect no payment information. If we introduce paid plans, any purchases will be handled through the applicable app-store billing, and we will update this policy accordingly.
Our providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using TurfCaddie you consent to this processing.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
