Getting started

How do I create an account?

Download TurfCaddie on iPhone or open the web app and tap Sign up. During the beta every account gets full Pro access, free — no card required.

Why isn't weather showing on my Home screen?

Weather needs your course location. Go to Settings, enter your address (or use GPS in the iPhone app), and tap Update Weather Location. You'll see "Weather locked to…" when it's set.

Does my account work on both the iPhone app and the website?

Yes — one account, same data everywhere. Log a moisture walk in the field and it's on your office screen when you get back. Camera diagnosis, the GPS scouting map, and push alerts live in the iPhone app; everything else works in both places.

AI diagnosis

How accurate is the AI diagnosis?

Every result shows a confidence score, the reasoning behind it, and the look-alikes it ruled out. Detailed mode also cites university and USGA sources. Treat it as a very well-read second opinion: confirm or correct each result — that feedback makes future answers on your course sharper.

What makes a good diagnosis photo?

Fill the frame with the symptom, shoot in even light (avoid harsh shadows), and include the edge where damaged turf meets healthy turf. Adding a note — "started in low spots after 3 days of rain" — helps a lot. Picking the hole also feeds that green's soil-moisture readings into the reasoning.

Are the product recommendations safe to follow?

They're a starting point, not a prescription. Always read and follow the product label — the label is the law. Verify rates, re-entry intervals, and local regulations before any application.

Soil moisture

What probe do I need?

Any TDR-style moisture meter that reads volumetric water content (VWC %) works — the Spectrum TDR-350 is the common one. Type readings into the Moisture Walk keypad, or import the probe's CSV on the website or in the app.

How does AI calibration work?

After 14+ readings on a green, tap Calibrate with AI. It studies that green's dry-down pattern and history, then suggests thresholds with plain-language reasoning and citations. You review and apply — you always have the final say.

Why is one green red when the course average looks fine?

That's the point: every green is colored against its own targets, not a course average. A push-up green and a sand-based green shouldn't be judged by the same number.

Account & data

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete My Account. On the web: Settings → Delete my account. This permanently removes your profile and content. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.

How do I report a post or block someone in the community?

Tap the menu on any post to report it or block its author, or the flag icon on a comment. Blocked users can be managed in Settings → Blocked Users. Reports go to our team for review.

Is my course data private?

Yes. Your records, diagnoses, and readings are yours — only community posts you choose to share are visible to others. Full details in our privacy policy. We never sell your data.

Beta & pricing

What does the beta include, and what does it cost?

Everything — diagnosis, soil moisture, forecast, records, reports, community — free while we're in beta. No card, nothing to cancel.

What happens when paid plans launch?

Founding beta members will be told well in advance and lock in the best pricing. Nothing changes without notice.

Terms of service

Welcome to TurfCaddie. By using the app or website you agree to the following:

Diagnostic assistance, not a decision-maker. TurfCaddie's AI provides diagnostic assistance and recommendations. The superintendent is responsible for all final application decisions and compliance with local regulations. AI recommendations do not replace professional agronomic consultation.

The label is the law. Pesticide rates, re-entry intervals (REI), and pre-harvest intervals (PHI) shown in TurfCaddie are for convenience only and must be verified against the current product label before any application.

As-is service. TurfCaddie is provided "as is" without warranty. TurfCaddie and its operators are not liable for turf loss, regulatory action, or other damages arising from use of the service.

Community conduct. Content you post is visible to other users per your privacy settings. Abusive, hateful, or misleading content may be removed and accounts suspended. Use the report and block tools to flag problems.

Your data. Your data is stored securely and never sold. See the privacy policy for the full picture, including deletion.
